Morocco is a Muslim country with a long Islamic history, beautiful mosques and famous centres of learning. For many Indonesian families, a Morocco tour from Indonesia is a chance to discover this heritage, enjoy halal food everywhere and see the great Sahara desert.

We are a local agency from Merzouga, in the Sahara. Our halal Muslim-friendly tour includes halal meals, stops for the five daily prayers and time for Friday prayer. All tours are private and can be adapted to your family, your pace and your budget.

Visa

⚠ Pending verification: Pending verification – always confirm with the Moroccan embassy or consulate before booking flights.

Indonesian passport holders have commonly been able to enter Morocco for tourism without a visa, generally for up to 90 days. Entry rules can change, so please confirm the current situation with the Embassy of Morocco in Jakarta before you buy your tickets.

Your passport should be valid for at least six months after arrival. Please also check the transit rules for the airport where you change planes.

Flights and connections

There are no direct flights from Jakarta to Morocco. The most common connections are through Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Istanbul. Some travellers also connect in Jeddah or in a European city. Expect a total journey of about 17 to 24 hours.

Casablanca (CMN) is the main arrival airport and works well with our halal tour, which starts there. Marrakech (RAK) and Fez (FEZ) are also good options.

Money and payments

Morocco uses the dirham (MAD), a closed currency that you can only get inside Morocco. Bring US dollars or euros in cash to exchange, or use ATMs in the cities. Cards work in most hotels, but keep cash for markets, small restaurants and tips.

Best time to travel

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most comfortable seasons. The school holidays in June and July are possible, but the desert is very hot then, so we plan early starts and rest in the afternoon.

Travelling during Ramadan is possible. Many restaurants close during the day and open after sunset, and the evenings in the cities are lively. Many families also like to visit after Eid al-Fitr. Tell us your dates and we will plan meals and prayer times carefully.

Safety and health

Morocco is generally safe and very welcoming to Muslim visitors. Take normal care with your belongings in crowded medinas, and use licensed guides for city visits. Women can travel comfortably with modest clothing, which is normal in Morocco.

Drink bottled water and buy travel insurance before your trip, as it is mandatory on our tours.
