More and more Filipino travellers choose Morocco for a different kind of holiday. Here you can walk in old walled cities, cross high mountains and sleep in a camp in the Sahara, all in one trip. A Morocco tour from Philippines needs some planning, because the journey is long and you will change planes at least once.
We are a local agency based in Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara. All our tours are private, so your family or group travels with your own driver and vehicle. This page explains the practical points: entry rules, flights, money, weather and safety. When you are ready, see our Morocco Essentials tour or ask us for a tailor-made plan.
⚠ Pending verification: Pending verification – always confirm with the Moroccan embassy or consulate before booking flights.
Holders of a Philippine passport have commonly been allowed to enter Morocco for tourism without a visa, usually for up to 90 days. However, entry rules can change at any time. Please confirm the current rules with the Embassy of Morocco in Manila or an official Moroccan consulate before you buy your flights.
Your passport should be valid for at least six months after your arrival date. Also check the transit rules of the countries where you change planes, for example Qatar, the United Arab Emirates or Türkiye, as these may have their own requirements for Filipino citizens.
There are no direct flights from Manila to Morocco. Most travellers connect through Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Istanbul. Some routes also connect through European cities such as Paris or Madrid. The total travel time is often between 18 and 26 hours, depending on the connection.
The main arrival airports are Casablanca (CMN) and Marrakech (RAK). Fez (FEZ) and Tangier (TNG) also receive international flights. We can start your private tour from any of these airports and on any day of the week.
The local currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD). It is a closed currency, so you cannot buy it in the Philippines. Bring US dollars or euros in cash and change them at banks or exchange offices in Morocco, or take money from ATMs in the cities.
Hotels and larger shops accept cards, but markets, small cafés and villages often accept cash only. Tell your bank before you travel so your card is not blocked abroad.
The best months are March to May and September to November. Days are warm and nights are mild, which is ideal for the desert and the cities. If you plan to travel during the Holy Week holidays in March or April, book early, as this is a popular time.
Many Filipinos travel in December. This is possible, but remember that Morocco is cold in winter: nights in the Sahara can be close to freezing and there may be snow in the Atlas Mountains. Bring warm clothes. Summer (June to August) is very hot in the desert.
Morocco is generally a safe and welcoming country for visitors. Take normal care in busy medinas and markets: keep your bag closed and your phone in a safe pocket. Use licensed guides, which we arrange for the city visits on our tours.
Drink bottled water and take travel insurance before you leave, as it is required for all our tours. Your private driver stays with you during the trip and can help with any practical question.
