Morocco Tour from Malaysia: Visa, Flights & Halal Travel Tips

Morocco is a favourite destination for Malaysian travellers who want to explore Islamic history and natural beauty together. A Morocco tour from Malaysia can include the great Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, the old university of Al Quaraouiyine in Fez and the golden dunes of the Sahara.

We are a local agency from Merzouga, and all our tours are private. Our halal Muslim-friendly tour is designed for Muslim families: halal meals, prayer stops, Friday prayer and alcohol-free restaurants on request. You can also start in Fez or Marrakech if your flights work better.

Visa

⚠ Pending verification: Pending verification – always confirm with the Moroccan embassy or consulate before booking flights.

Malaysian passport holders have commonly been able to enter Morocco for tourism without a visa, generally for up to 90 days. These rules can change, so please confirm them with the Embassy of Morocco in Kuala Lumpur before you buy your flights.

Your passport should have at least six months of validity after your arrival date.

Flights and connections

There are no direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Morocco. Most travellers connect through Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah or Istanbul. The total journey is usually around 17 to 24 hours.

Casablanca (CMN) is the most common arrival airport. Marrakech (RAK) and Fez (FEZ) are also well connected through Europe and the Middle East.

Money and payments

Morocco uses the dirham (MAD), which you can only get inside the country. Bring US dollars or euros in cash, or withdraw dirhams from ATMs in the cities. Keep small notes for markets, tips and roadside cafés.

Best time to travel

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer the best weather. Many Malaysian families travel during the school holidays; if this falls in summer, we plan early morning visits to avoid the strong heat in the desert.

If you travel after Hari Raya Aidilfitri, you will often find good weather in spring. During Ramadan, travel is possible and the evenings are special, but some restaurants are closed during the day.

Safety and health

Morocco is generally safe and very friendly to Muslim visitors. Use normal care with bags and phones in crowded medinas and use licensed guides, which we arrange for the main city visits.

Drink bottled water and take travel insurance, which is mandatory for our tours.
